A New Year's Gift for the Youth of Uzbekistan

During the "Youth Tourism Week" held in Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, residents and guests enjoyed unforgettable hot air balloon flights—an impressive and spectacular way to welcome the New Year.

This event was organized by the Tourism Committee in cooperation with city administrations and the Federation of Aeronautics of Uzbekistan to attract young people to domestic tourism and create new opportunities for active recreation. It played a key role in promoting Uzbekistan's historical and cultural heritage, offering the younger generation a unique chance to admire the breathtaking views of ancient cities.

From December 30, 2024, to January 3, 2025, more than 20,000 people took part in this grand celebration at the Gur Emir Mausoleum in Samarkand, Shahristan Square in Bukhara, and Ota Darvoza Square in Khiva.

Bright hot air balloons adorned the sky, and over 1,500 visitors had the opportunity to fulfill their dreams—soaring above the city in a balloon and enjoying a bird’s-eye view. This event provided participants with unforgettable emotions and new opportunities to explore historical landmarks.

Such initiatives contribute to the development of active and healthy recreation among young people while fostering an appreciation for their homeland’s cultural heritage. They open new horizons for personal growth and create unique opportunities to experience Uzbekistan’s historical and natural beauty.
